Open-air Evangel
August 3 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Open-air Evangel 3rd August 2024
God willing, TFCC will be in Stalybridge this Saturday – in Armentieres Square.
The location is new to us as far as open-air witness goes and we believe this to be the location that will suit our endeavours to procalim the gospel.
Time – 12.00 noon until 13.00
…arriving some time earlier to set up and departing some time after packing up.
The open-air witness in Hyde last Saturday was again a joy and it was good to be preaching the gospel. As usual Bibles and the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were available to any who asked for them.
We [TFCC] have preached many times before in this location and it was good to be back. Several of the Lord’s people approached and asked questions and gave encouragement;- [JS (male) who worships in Hyde, C (female) from Droylesden who worships in Failsworth and her parents and A (m) from Romania who has stopped attending church because of a neglect of the truth there]. We explained, to them all, our current church circumstances and gave contact details and told of our ‘online’ ministry here in Tameside, and of the established churches in Wales and in the Philippines; we also spoke of our hopes and aspirations in Christ for Tameside. Each agreed to pray for the gospel witness and the furtherance / growth of TFCC.
The Market Place was busy with traders and shoppers and many people heard the witness, in the short time had for the preaching of the gospel, including passengers waiting at the adjacent bus stops.
One young girl who sat and listened to our witness with her family of four while they had some lunch took home a bible. Several others sat in the same place during our time there and must have heard something at least of the witness – truly the Lord is good to all. Two Gospels of John were given out to those who we had discussion with [one to J (f) who told that she reads the bible regularly and that she attended St. Georges church when she was younger and another John’s gospel in Romanian to A (m) mentioned above].
Much encouraged, we felt blessed during our time in Hyde ever remembering … Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: Psalm 127:1 and …. we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: to the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? 2 Cor.2:15-17
Following this event we plan to visit Ashton again next Saturday [10-08-24] before doing the rounds again, the LORD willing. Locations/notices will be posted before each open-air.
We acknowledge all our arrangements subject according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Eph.1:11
We believe – The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Luke 10:2
